7 key tips for people pleasers

𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒔 —

Did you know that “people pleasing” is actually a selfish act that helps us avoid feeling uncomfortable? And, did you know that avoiding problems or speaking up actually prevents growth? As a recovering perfectionist and someone who used to let my ego get in my way… I get it. Trust me.

But there is no greater feeling than feeling free to be exactly who you’re designed to be. Free to be YOU.

So here are a few things you can start doing to honor yourself + ways to set boundaries —

• try saying “let me get back to you” so you can make empowered decisions

• and, try saying “this is not a priority for me right now” and see how it feels

• be okay with delaying your responses… you don’t have to respond to things right away!

• start saying no, even just to the little things like dessert from the waitress

• replace “I can’t” with “I don’t” for a more empowered stance

• stop apologizing for every little thing… seriously, stop.

• know your goals… when you know what you want to accomplish and who you want to be, it’s easier to set boundaries

Here’s the thing: growth doesn’t happen overnight. but start today! Commit to doing this for yourself.

I know a thing or two about this topic… When I began my business, I started:

afraid…

worried what people would think…

unsure and uncertain.

I started at the beginning. Which is something I think so many people are afraid to experience.

But without beginnings, there’s no middles. There’s no breakthroughs. And there’s no growth & no victories.

Everyday I am grateful for the woman I was when I started… even though her voice shook when she spoke, even though she had no idea what she was doing… she started. And she kept going, picking up steam with every step.

— and now almost 4 years in, a multiple 7 figure business, a community that fills every crack of my heart, a purpose and a calling in leadership, a grounded feeling I’ve never felt before, experiences and trips to places I only dreamed of…

I still think of my sweet beginnings.

I still remember that girl.

& I’m so dang proud of her.

— make yourself proud. Take the risk, the leap. Let it be scary and messy. Start saying no to everything that’s not a hell yes.

You will never feel ready, but you’ll figure it out, I promise. One step at a time ???? But it all starts with you.
