hello skin.
pores.
lines.
stray hairs.
blemishes.
birthmarks.
I struggled with my skin for so many years and I remember trying everything… birth control, homemade masks, steaming my face over a boiling pot of water on the stove, spending thousands upon thousands of dollars for chemical peels, lasers, harsh chemicals and expensive products.
It’s been a journey to say the least.🙏
My skin was the screaming symptom that told me something wasn’t right… and thus began my obsession with health and wellness for the last 9 years.
The hardest thing about struggling with acne or your skin is that you can’t hide it. Even pounds of makeup can’t hide it.
I remember canceling plans and picking at my face until it would bleed and restricting every “bad” food I read about on blogs and avoiding mirrors when my breakouts were flaring up.
UNTIL — last year I decided to unsubscribe from fear in every aspect of my life and that included educating myself about my metabolism and incorporating foods I was afraid of for so long… real milk (not nut juice), dairy, carbs, coffee, fruit, sugar, etc.
I discovered the work of Ray Peat, @katedeeringfitness (read her book its phenomenal), @jessicaashwellness, @innatefunctionalnutrition, and Dr Broda Barnes. And in quiet, I started implementing a new way of living.
Mind you, I went to nutrition school and I was certified as a CrossFit trainer, personal trainer and had other nutrition certs. I worked in the wellness industry for many years… but I didn’t know what I didn’t know.
It’s been 8 months and I feel like I got my life back. It may sound dramatic but there’s no other way to put it.
✔️my skin is better

I started unlearning/relearning. I’m grateful for those who went before me and shared their knowledge so I could benefit.
I’m not perfect, will never be, and my goal now is consistency. Thanks for being on this journey with me. I’ll always do my best to be better #healthiswealth
