053: This Is Keeping You Stuck From Growing Your Business

I have news for you… you’re probably making the same mistake I did and it’s ruining your income potential.

Yes, you heard me right! One of the biggest breakthroughs in my own entrepreneurship journey was realizing that simply gathering more information wasn’t the solution.

Let me share a bit about my experience… I’m a lifelong learner. I love a good book, and I’ll definitely have a list of podcast episodes to listen to on a road trip. But despite all this learning, I wasn’t making any money. I had pages of notes, filled notebooks, and several courses collecting dust in my inbox, yet my bank account remained stagnant.

The problem was information overload. Many of us fall into the trap of believing that the more we know, the more successful we’ll be. But this is a misconception. Just learning more without taking action can create an illusion of progress, making us feel busy and productive without actually moving the needle.

For instance, I had pages upon pages of notes from seminars and courses. My notebooks were overflowing with ideas and strategies. Yet, they were just sitting there, unused. I also had courses in my inbox, purchased with the hope that they’d be the key to my success, but they too were left untouched.

Can you relate?  If so, you’re not alone. In this episode, we’ll explore why more information isn’t the answer and what you need to do instead to start seeing real income growth. Let’s get started!

The Key Differentiator Between Dreamers vs. Doers

If you find yourself consuming endless amounts of information but not seeing any financial results, it’s probably because right now you’re in the ‘dream’ stage, instead of the ‘do’ stage of entrepreneurship. And that’s okay!

If you’re listening to this and you’re feeling super called out, I want you to know that this is normal and there’s nothing to be ashamed of… it’s important to recognize where you are, give yourself grace, and then make a change.

So, what separates the dreamers from the doers? What differentiates those who succeed from those who can’t quite seem to get there? The key is massive action and implementation. Dreamers collect ideas, while doers take those ideas and put them into practice.

When I say massive action, I mean consistently taking the right steps towards your goals. Implementation is where the magic happens.

Without action, all the information in the world won’t make a difference. Remember this: what separates the successful from those who just can’t quite seem to get there? Its massive action and implementation.

The Turning Point

For me, the turning point was realizing that I needed to stop learning and start doing. I shifted my focus from gathering information to taking concrete steps. I began to implement what I had learned, and that’s when I saw the change.

Finally, I started to see the income I desired. It wasn’t because I discovered some secret or learned more. It was because I identified the right action steps and took them repeatedly. My income began to grow, and it was all due to this shift in mindset and approach.

Maybe for you, the turning point is listening to this podcast episode! If so, let’s talk about how you can apply this to your own life and business.

Practical Steps to Take Daily Action In Your Digital Product Business

First, identify the key steps that will move your business or career forward. Focus on these steps and commit to taking action on them every single day day. Yes, even when you don’t feel like it, even when you’re tired, even when you’ve had a long day.

Commit to taking consistent action, no matter how small. If you’re a digital creator, this might mean reaching out to potential clients, working on new lead magnets, or creating content.

I like to use the Eisenhower Matrix to prioritize daily tasks.

Categorize them into:

  • Urgent and Important: Do these immediately.
  • Important but Not Urgent: Schedule these for later.
  • Urgent but Not Important: Delegate these if possible.
  • Not Urgent and Not Important: Eliminate these to save time.

I also highly recommend creating a daily routine to boost productivity.

Allocate specific time blocks for different activities such as:

  • Morning: Review goals, respond to critical emails, plan the day.
  • Midday: Focus on high-priority tasks, development, and creation.
  • Afternoon: Marketing efforts, social media engagement, client follow-ups.
  • Evening: Reflect on the day, review progress, and plan for the next day.

It’s easy to get stuck in the paralysis of analysis, where you overthink and delay action. To overcome this, set small, achievable goals and start with those. And celebrate each small victory to build momentum!
