039: Important Life Updates: What’s On The Horizon For Erika & Kyle

Podcast fam, we LOVE to keep you in the loop. So you’re getting tea before anyone else! It’s time for a midsummer check-in of what’s been going on in our life, where we’ve been, things we’ve done, and what we’re working on.   At the time of this recording, it’s the middle of the year. Summer is halfway over, and we have TONS of exciting projects going on behind the scenes. So in today’s episode, we’re clueing you in on what they are and give you a recap of the first half of 2023!   Keep reading (or press play!) to hear about our new short-term rental investments, how Erika made over $10,000 selling a new digital project, how we’re prioritizing rest this summer, and more.

Erika’s Mastermind Experience

We kicked off this conversation with Erika sharing her experience of joining a mastermind for moms called CEO Mama. Becoming a mother has truly changed the way she works and does life, and being around other ambitious moms has been encouraging and helpful.   After an in-person mastermind session, Erika seriously had a pivotal moment in her life. This experience solidified her goals for her life and businesses and gave her permission and inspiration to pursue them!

Introducing A Brand New Digital Product

One of Erika’s goals that resulted from this mastermind is to get back into coaching and running coaching programs for online business owners. She loves teaching about marketing and building personal brands online.   So, she launched her first digital product, a Content Creator 30-Day Starter Guide, which gives you a step-by-step framework for getting clear on your brand, your content strategy, and how to start monetizing your social media.   In just a few short weeks, this guide generated over $10,000 with simple funnels and no paid ads! This was a super promising launch, and definitely lit a fire under Erika to continue launching digital products our audience is interested in!

How We’re Prioritizing Rest

Though this summer has been extremely busy in our businesses, we have also really been prioritizing rest as we made the decision to come to Erika’s family’s lake house in Eastern Tennessee to spend intentional time together as a family.   We can’t emphasize enough how peaceful it has been being surrounded by the beauty of the lake  mountains! We’re so grateful for the opportunity to experience such a special place. We’ve never spent more than a week and a half away from home before, and it’s been so magical to be in nature with our son this summer.

News On Our Investment Property, Forager’s Forest

This summer, we also started a business called Forager’s Forest, which is a luxury glamping site located in Linden, Tennessee. We’re so excited about the site being situated next to the Buffalo River, and we’re looking forward to offering activities such as hiking, kayaking, and paddle-boarding.    Foragers Forest will be available to stay in in 2024 and it will be a perfect place to unplug! With geodomes, a cedar wood sauna, tree houses, and A-frame cabins, we know it will be both fun and a bit hectic for it to all come together, but we can’t wait for you to come stay.

Building Our Dream Homestead

Speaking of building… We also wanted to update our listeners on our future forever home on 12 acres of land outside of Nashville! There have been several delays and roadblocks we’ve encountered since purchasing the land years ago, but we now have a clear vision for our home and we’re happy to see that progress is being made, with septic finally rolling out!   These building projects have been a labor of love and we have been intentional in our planning. We’re so excited to create our own little homestead, complete with cows, chickens, gardens, lavender fields, wildflowers, ducks, goats, and bees for honey. We have such a love for nature, and our experience at the lake this summer has only solidified this vision for us.

What’s Next for Trust Issues

Of course, we started a podcast in 2023 and it has been a hugely rewarding experience! Our podcast is a work in progress and there are days when we question whether anyone cares about what we have to say. But we recognize the value in the episodes that resonate with our listeners, and y’all make the hard work worthwhile!   Looking ahead, we plan to bring on more interviews with people we believe in and who have interesting messages to share. If you have any suggestions, feel free to email info@trustissuespodcast.co! We’re always reviewing pitches to see who will be a great fit.   We’ll also continue to release new episodes every Monday and Thursday, watching our download numbers on each episode to learn more about the topics YOU want to listen to. As always, if you enjoyed this update, be sure to subscribe to Trust Issues wherever you get your podcasts, so you continue to be the first to hear what’s on the horizon for our family!
