050: Why I’m Starting A Wellness Brand + Taking You Along For The Ride

I have some exciting news to share with you today! After years of dreaming and planning, I am thrilled to announce that I am launching a wellness supplement brand called Sein!

I truly believe that every man, woman, and child, regardless of their age, income, or lifestyle deserves to feel good… and that’s what whole food nutrition can do for them.

This brand is designed specifically for families, focusing on whole food nutrition products and supplements. I want to take you along for this incredible journey, sharing the ups, downs, and everything in between as we create something meaningful together!

The Journey Begins

Many entrepreneurs often wait until everything is perfect before sharing their ideas with the world. However, I believe in doing the opposite. I want to share my journey with you as it unfolds, showcasing the good, the messy, and the rewarding aspects of building this brand.

In a world where social media often presents a polished and perfect image, I think people crave authenticity and relatability. By sharing my experiences, I hope to create a community of raving fans who resonate with our mission.

Kyle and I have been in the health and fitness space for a long time. We started as strength training coaches and obtained health coaching certifications right out of college. Our passion for health and wellness has always been at the forefront of our lives, and we believe that everyone deserves to feel amazing.

Unfortunately, we’ve noticed a lack of brands that genuinely prioritize quality and integrity in their products. This realization fueled our dream of creating our own supplement brand.

A Dream Ten Years in the Making

This dream has been a decade in the making. As newlyweds and budding entrepreneurs, we didn’t have much money or experience, but we held onto our vision.

Over the past year, various life events have led us to finally take the plunge into this project. It feels like a divine intervention, especially after meeting a formulator who shares our commitment to quality and ingredient transparency.

We’ve always been meticulous about what we put into our bodies, and we want to extend that same care to our customers. We believe that knowing where your products come from and how they are made is crucial. Our goal is to create a supplement brand that not only meets high standards but also resonates with families.

The Meaning Behind Sein

When it came to naming the brand, I wanted something unique and meaningful. The name Sein has a special significance. In French, it means healthy, safe, and sound. In English, it refers to someone in good health.

The way we spell it, S-E-I-N, also has a metaphorical connection to the Seine River in Paris, symbolizing confidence and strength. In German, “Seine” translates to “to be,” which resonates deeply with our mission to empower families to be their best selves.

As a mother, I understand the challenges that come with motherhood. My own experience with postpartum anxiety and depression opened my eyes to the need for support for moms. Society often pressures mothers to bounce back quickly, leaving little room for grace and understanding.

I want Sein to be a source of support for mothers, reminding them that they are doing an incredible job, even on the toughest days.

Our First Product

We are starting with one product that will come in two different flavors—a mixable drink that families can enjoy together. I can’t share too much yet, as we are still in the process of third-party testing to ensure safety and quality. However, I want to emphasize that our products will be designed for the whole family, providing essential vitamins and minerals that everyone needs.

One of the most important aspects of this journey is involving our customers in the process. We recently hosted a tasting party to gather feedback on our flavors. It’s crucial to know what people like and dislike, as we want to create products that genuinely resonate with our audience. I believe that involving customers in the creation process not only builds trust but also fosters a sense of community.

The Importance of Feedback

As entrepreneurs, we often hear the advice to keep our ideas close to our chest for fear of someone stealing them. However, I believe that ideas are cheap; it’s the execution that matters. By sharing our journey and inviting feedback, we can create something truly special.

I’ve been actively engaging with a focus group on Instagram, asking for their thoughts on flavors, branding, and more. This feedback is invaluable as we refine our products.

I’ve learned that building a waitlist is also a powerful tool for generating interest and excitement around our brand. When people feel invested in the process, they are more likely to support us when we launch. Word of mouth is still one of the most effective marketing strategies, and I want to harness that power as we grow.

Setting Ourselves Apart

The supplement industry is saturated, and standing out is essential. We are committed to creating products that are not only effective but also safe and transparent. We’ve invested time and resources into ensuring that our ingredients are of the highest quality. For example, we are avoiding certain additives and opting for natural alternatives that align with our values.

Our vision is to create a brand that exceeds expectations, offering delicious and nutritious products that families can trust. I want Sein to be synonymous with quality and integrity, and I am excited to share this journey with you.
