At the end of 2023, I was feeling stuck and uninspired in my career. I was feeling like I needed to make a shift, make some pivots in my life…
And although I knew what changes I needed to make, I had a ton of anxiety to actually make them, because they were a combination of big and small changes that would completely change my life.
These included leaving a network marketing company I had worked hard at for years… starting a wellness company… growing this very podcast… and more.
I’m happy to report that despite being ‘scared’, I DID IT! I made small changes over time, and by the time 2024 came to a close, I had reinvented myself and my brand, and now I want to help you do it too.
We all know that a new year, season, or quarter presents a unique opportunity for reinvention. Whether you’re dissatisfied with your career, relationships, or simply craving a change, this year holds the potential for transformation.
If you’re feeling stuck, uncertain, or simply ready for a new chapter, keep listening because I’m going to share with you exactly how to reinvent yourself in 2025!
Get Honest With Yourself
The first step in my reinvention process was getting honest with myself. I took the time to sit down and ask myself some crucial questions:
- What do you want in terms of how you want your life to feel? What do you want your day-to-day to look like?
- What aspects of your life would you like to change? What are some things that just don’t bring you joy?
- Are there things that you have on your plate that you shouldn’t be doing, whether that means you stop completely or you hand them off to someone else?
When I did this, I felt like I was just going through the motions. I was getting on calls every single day, having meeting after meeting, missing bedtime with my child… These were all things that I just didn’t want to do anymore, and I knew I needed to make a change.
Identify Your Non-Negotiables
Once I had clarity on what I wanted, I established my non-negotiables. These are the things that I absolutely must have in my life to feel fulfilled. For instance, I decided that I wouldn’t take calls before noon, allowing my mornings to be family time. I also made it a priority to have dinner together as a family every night.
Identifying your non-negotiables is crucial because it sets the foundation for your new life. It helps you prioritize what truly matters and lets you say no to things that don’t align with your goals.
A few ideas to get you started:
- Do you want to have a slow morning?
- Do you want to not have any meetings anymore before 12 o’clock?
- Do you want to stop showing your face on camera?
- What do you absolutely need or want to be able to thrive?
My non-negotiables are health, wellness, and family time. To ensure my life lines up with my values,I always try to make time for fitness because it always makes me feel better. Having dinner as a family every night is important to us, and Kyle and I are also both always home for bedtime and bath time with our sons.
Embracing Change and Making Sacrifices
Reinventing yourself often requires making sacrifices. For me, this meant stepping away from a successful coaching business that I had built over the years. It was a tough decision, but I knew it was necessary for my growth.
Change can be scary, especially when it involves letting go of something you’ve worked hard for. However, I found that when I took that leap of faith, I was met with unexpected joy and clarity. It’s essential to remember that sometimes, the things we fear the most can lead to the most rewarding experiences.
Taking Action
After making the decision to pivot, I started taking action. I launched a wellness company and began sharing my journey on social media. To my surprise, my Instagram account exploded, and I found an audience that was eager for the information I was passionate about sharing.
This experience taught me that it’s never too late to grow or to make a pivot. Sometimes, all it takes is for you to step into your purpose for others to follow.
Creating New Habits
As I began to reinvent myself, I realized that approximately 40% of our daily actions are powered by habits rather than conscious decisions. This means that if you want to change your life, you need to change your habits.
Start by turning your non-negotiables into daily routines. For example, if spending time with your family is a priority, make it a habit to have dinner together every night. Over time, these habits will become part of your new reality.
Visual Representation of Change
Another aspect of my reinvention was updating my personal brand. I realized that the visuals I was using didn’t reflect who I was anymore. I decided to do a photo shoot that represented my current life as a mom, rather than the “boss babe” image I had previously portrayed.
This visual change was empowering and helped me feel more aligned with my new identity. Consider how you can update your own image—whether it’s through your wardrobe, social media, or even your home environment—to reflect the changes you’re making in your life.
The Journey of Reinvention
Reinventing yourself is not about changing who you are at your core; it’s about shedding the layers that no longer serve you. It’s about stepping into your potential and embracing what you are meant to do in this world.
As I continue on this journey, I remind myself that it’s okay to reinvent myself multiple times. Each new chapter brings new opportunities for growth and self-discovery.
Final Thoughts
I hope this episode inspired you to step out of your comfort zone and into who you’re meant to be in your new chapter.
Remember: reinventing yourself isn’t about changing who you are at your core. It’s about shedding the layers that no longer serve you and stepping into your true potential. Embrace the discomfort of growth, and trust that the journey ahead holds infinite possibilities!
