the community I didn’t know I needed

Honestly, I used to roll my eyes at the word “𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚“.

I became an entrepreneur in 2009 to make money on my own terms, to not have a boss, and to be in full control of my life.

I didn’t start for friends.

If anything, I was team #nonewfriends.

I was focused on my hustle, on the grind….

Connecting with friends wasn’t on my mind.

It’s sad but true. Looking back now, I realize that I was missing one of the most important pieces of life, tbh.

One of the best gifts and surprises since I started my shampoo business in 2017 has been the community. Oh my god, did I resist it at first, but then it became everything I never knew I needed.

Sometimes the greatest gifts come in the most unexpected packages, like meeting so many of my amazing team randomly on Instagram, or one of my podcast episodes that they stumbled upon.

I expected this business to have it’s challenges and it’s periods of growth, but what I never expected was to find other women just like me… with big dreams, with a no-quit attitude, with grit and perseverance. Having them in my life has literally been *everything*.

For so many years I felt so lonely but now I feel 💯 supported and seen. Because we all have the same winning mindset, and we’re all willing to do the work to be the best version of ourselves. I never thought shampoo would give me the most badass crew of women but it’s crazy how things turn out when you’re open minded.

seeing their wins

their laughs

their growth

their joy

It’s it for me. I’ve accomplished a lot in the past few years, I’ve had a lot of wins and losses but it’s not really about me anymore. I’ve learned that there is nothing more rewarding that I’ve ever experienced in my life than seeing those I care about become the best version of themselves, and succeed beyond their wildest dreams.

2021 is all about helping as many as I can grow & achieve their goals. A rising tide lifts all boats ⛵️ and I would literally go anywhereeeee with this crew. I love them so much.

They’ve become my best friends.

my crazy dance partners.

road trip buddies.

closest confidants.

ride or dies.

And honestly I’m so proud of us. I’m so proud of how we have fought for our dreams, how we’ve fought for our friendships, and how we’ve fought to release old stories and anything that tried to hold us back.

These women have truly changed me as a person. none of us are perfect but I do know this… there’s no one else I would rather run with in the world than these women.

How cool that because of the Internet, because of shampoo, a girl from small town Pennsylvania 🇺🇸 and other girls from around the U.S., are creating our dream lives together. Life is magic, and it will bring you all the right opportunities and the most wonderful people, if you’re open to it.
