Did you know that when you’re stressed, your mineral burn rate goes up? The more stress you experience, the more depleted your minerals are. Minerals are essential for every metabolic function, so we need to be aware of our stress levels.
There are plenty of ways to get minerals through food and hydrating drinks, but one of my favorite ways to relax while also upping my minerals is by taking a magnesium bath. It’s not only incredibly relaxing but it is also easily absorbed transdermally. I took these baths all throughout my pregnancy, during my postpartum journey, and now Dawson gets in with me, too. How amazing is that!
The trick is to use all three ingredients in your bath because the bicarbonate + boron (borax) are co-factors of magnesium and support cellular absorption and retention of magnesium.
Now, let’s jump into the ingredients:
-
2 cups of Epsom salts OR. magnesium chloride flakes
-
1 cup of baking soda
-
sprinkle or borax
If it’s your first time, start slow. Consider using half the recipe. My goal is to aim for three baths a week at 20 minutes each.
The benefits of a magnesium bath are endless. You’ll leave feeling relaxed, less anxious, and your body will feel better! If you try this out, let me know! I’d love to hear how you like it!
